Orfit Industries acquires patient immobilization and

positioning product lines from US-based Diacor

Acquisition will complement product range and strengthen leadership position

Antwerp (Belgium) October  1, 2011 - Orfit Industries has reached an agreement with Diacor Inc. for the acquisition of the MammoRx Breast Board and Integra Head & Neck Solution product groups. Both product groups complement Orfit Industries’ already extensive range of high precision immobilization and positioning solutions for radiation oncology. The agreement is effective immediately.

For almost 30 years Diacor,  based inWestValleyCity(Utah,USA), has been a well-known and well respected leading supplier of high quality, reliable patient positioning systems for radiation oncology with outstanding proven clinical results.

Orfit Industries is a recognized world leader in the manufacturing and marketing of high precision patient immobilization and positioning systems for radiation oncology. By acquiring the Diacor product line, Orfit will be able to offer a full range of carbon fibre breast board products and accessories under the “MammoRx” brand name. The MammoRx breast boards have distinguished themselves as the premium products in the industry.

The “Integra” product group includes head & neck extensions for various couch tops as well as overlay boards and couch top inserts that are produced under Orfit Industries license.

This acquisition enables Orfit to offer complete solutions for all patient positioning and immobilization needs. In addition, it consolidates Orfit’s world leadership as a manufacturer and supplier of this product range.

From 1-4 October visitors to ASTRO 2011 are welcome to visit the Orfit booth and to ask for more information. ASTRO, which this year takes place inMiami Beach(Florida,USA),  is the world’s largest radiation oncology event.
