Orfit Industries wins prestigeous Lion of the Export 2011 award

CEO Steven Cuypers: “This recognition proves we ‘re on the right track!”

Wijnegem, June 15, 2011. After the company was nominated for the Award in May, a jury comprising leading personalities from the economic world decided to grant Orfit Industries the Lion of the Export 2011 Award. Each year, Flanders Investment & Trade, the Flemish Agency responsible for promoting International Business on behalf of the Flemish Government, rewards companies with outstanding performances in the field of export.

To date, Orfit Industries exports Patient Immobilization Systems in Radiation Oncology, low temperature thermoplastic splint materials for physical rehabilitation, and last but not least high melt temperature thermoplastic sheet materials for Prosthetics and Orthotics worldwide to more than 71 countries on all continents.

In his comments, CEO Steven Cuypers said he was very happy with this award for it clearly highlights his company’s extraordinary export performance. While expressing his gratitude towards FIT for all its support, Cuypers insisted on the fact that this success had everything to do with the outstanding quality of Orfit’s product offer.

“To date, we have managed to keep a technological competitive advantage over our competitors by being extremely innovative in the development of new materials and production techniques. Our greatest strength is that we keep control over the entire business process from concept, R&D, selection of materials, production, quality control logistics and distribution as well as HR, finance, prospection, sales, marketing and the education of our client’s medical staff and personnel. It is our challenge to keep and improve that leading position.” Cuypers proudly announced.

This year, some 40 companies in total participated in the Lion of the export competition.
