REACH – Letter 4 – Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) – candidate list d.d. June 20th, 2011.

Orfit Industries NV is committed to meet its legal obligations under REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals).
With the publication of the so called “candidate list” (Article 59 REACH) on June 20th, 2011, Article 33(1) obliges suppliers of articles to inform their downstream customers of the presence in the article of substances of very high concern included in the candidate list above a concentration of 0.1 % weight by weight (w/w). Article suppliers have to provide their customers with sufficient information available to them to allow safe use, including, as a minimum, the name of the substance.
At the present, 53 substances have been included in the candidate list. The candidate list can be consulted at the following address:

Based on the information we received from our upstream suppliers, none of these 53 substances is present in one of our articles or packaging.
We will keep monitoring the candidate list every six months, every six months new substances are added to the candidate list. If it appears that one of the articles we supply to you contains one or more of the mentioned SVHC substances, we will inform you and take the necessary actions to remove these SVHC substances.
Secondly we will also monitor the REACH legislation on a regular base.
